The Three Laws: Fifty Years to Focus
A book by David M. Shelton.
The book begins on a Tuesday in November 2007, in an office at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, with a report on the table between two men. Eighteen recommendations. Four reviewers. A draft Request for Proposals that, if revised the way the reviewers asked, would have lost the structural feature that made the building possible.
The reviewers were right about everything except the thing that mattered most.
This book is the eighteen years it took to figure out what that thing was.
